23 hours in a sleepy haze, on the edge of the river's grassy maze
A train pulled in slow and true as the clock showed a time of 7:02 AM
As the people rushed out I had no doubt what I was feeling that morn was what it's all about

There is no them

The night before I saw a leopard crawl off a suitcase to me and down the hall
I was living in the haze of a molecular daze running towards downtown going the wrong way
But the traffic didn't bother like it normally does, it felt like a game but a lot more fun

A desert trip that started it all, a Monday night if I recall
One of those nights where a speaker blows out but you can't remember how it should sound
A look in the mirror explains it all as your forehead twists and turns as you're standing still
