Storm's coming across the Everglades Pack your things we might go out away Don't have to change your name or face As long as you can keep up the pace Walk on the levee all day Don't let it get washed out by the rain Storm's coming day by day The levee wasn't put here to stay Storms coming across the Everglades Pack your things we might go out to stay Businessmen can't keep the people safe If the storm comes it'll make the change Walk on the levee all day Don't let it get washed out by the rain Storm's coming day by day The levee wasn't put here to stay Walk on the levee, before it's coming down Walk on the levee, while it's dry ground Walk on the levee, it's coming down coming down Walk on the levee....

If you feel down with your feet stuck on the ground Pick your self up and it won't take long to see Driving that train is a man with manners so plain So don't be afraid, cause he's here to take you away Take him up on the ride Climb right up the side Don't be a ghost of a self These kinds of things you can't sell Riding around, passing through nameless towns You ask where you are and he says "What, is this really hell?" Walk through the cars, you see bottles, cons, and stars, and cops behind bars On the engine to the stars Take him up on the ride Climb right up the side Don't be a ghost of a self

Sometimes I find myself in quite a jam But if you look at it different you can see what I can Taking off your glasses to read it just like you should I can surely tell that you're not feeling too good Don't try to tell me, don't try to make me feel bad Cause all that you've been doing, is making yourself feel sad Hammer that nail, beat it into your wall I can tell you your painting will not fall Hammer that nail, beat it as hard as you can And maybe it'll help sometimes Not too long after you start pushing it down You'll find that it feels like you world's turning around Don't make a mistake and think that you're all done You forgot to drive that nail in it's not your only one Don't try to tell me, don't try to make me feel bad Cause a nail without a hammer is all you ever had Hammer that nail, beat it into your wall I can tell you your painting will not fall Hammer that nail, beat it as hard as you can And maybe it'll help sometimes Sometimes I find myself in quite a jam But if you look at it different you can see what I can Taking off your glasses to read it just like you should I can surely tell that you're not feeling too good Don't try to tell me, don't try to make me feel bad Cause a nail without a hammer is all you ever had Hammer that nail, beat it into your wall I can tell you your painting will not fall Hammer that nail, beat it as hard as you can And maybe it'll help sometimes

If I only suffered like you think you do I'd be calling out for help like you never do You say you're all alone but you're in a big group How'd you like to step in another man's shoes? You can sit there without a worry Doing all the things you wanna do But when you get on top of the world Who's gonna follow you? If I only suffered like you think you do Well, I'd be calling out for help like you never do When I get out of bed I don't bitch like you do Get out and put on your dancing shoes You can sit there without a worry Doing all the things you wanna do But when you get on top of the world Who's gonna follow you? If I only suffered like you think you do I'd be calling out for help like you never do You say you're all alone but you're in a big group How'd you like to step in another man's shoes? You can sit there without a worry Doing all the things you wanna do But when you get on top of the world Who's gonna follow you?

Care for me and I'll leave you be Stir up the pot and add your honey Put your worries down and your spirits up You got a whole world to see when you bring me Bring me the jubilee Carry it over to me We'll have a ball at the jubilee Turn your engine off because we run on steam What a crazy place such a dreary scene Well they're setting up a tent where all the soldiers went They tell me they're having, yeah they're having Having a jubilee Bring me the jubilee Carry it over to me We'll have a ball at the jubilee Musket fire rings through the air Black powder and hateful stares Cotton's still king and Varina's still queen But through it all they still are having Having a Jubilee Bring me the jubilee Carry it over to me We'll have a ball at the jubilee
